Belgium’s Autumn Poultry Academy Courses Open for Registration

02/09/2025

This autumn, poultry professionals will have the chance to deepen their expertise through a series of specialized training programs in Izegem, Belgium. The academy has announced three knowledge-focused courses designed to advance sustainable practices and improve efficiency across the poultry sector.

The first course, Responsible Use of Antimicrobials (9–11 September 2025), will be led by Professor Van Immerseel, a recognized authority in the field. Participants will explore how cost-effective operations can naturally reduce antibiotic use while improving animal health outcomes.

In October (14–17), the focus shifts to Gut Health & Food Safety, where participants will examine how early feeding, coccidiosis, bacterial enteritis, Salmonella Infantis, zoonoses, and antimicrobial resistance affect both welfare and production efficiency.

Finally, in November (18–20), the program will conclude with Hatchery Management, a hands-on training aimed at optimizing hatchery operations, improving chick quality, and aligning with modern industry standards.

These courses highlight the growing importance of science-based training for sustainable poultry production, particularly in light of increasing global demand and regulatory pressure around antimicrobial use.
