Alltech Brazil awarded EcoVadis Gold Medal for sustainability
09/04/2026
Alltech Brazil has received a Gold Medal from EcoVadis, achieving an overall score of 84 out of 100 and placing in the 98th percentile of companies globally across all industries, according to Alltech.
The recognition is a notable milestone for the animal nutrition sector, where sustainability credentials are becoming increasingly important for customers, business partners and public institutions. EcoVadis is a widely used sustainability ratings platform that assesses companies across four key areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its methodology goes beyond policy statements, focusing on evidence of implementation, measurable performance and continuous improvement.
Alltech said its Brazil operation was also the first unit to score 100 out of 100 in four environmental indicators: policies, endorsement, measures and certifications. EcoVadis medals are awarded based on percentile performance compared with all companies assessed over the previous 12 months.
The result comes in a more competitive assessment cycle, with companies evaluated over the latest 12-month period achieving higher average scores than in previous years, making strong percentile positioning harder to secure.
“For Alltech Brazil, achieving the Gold Medal demonstrates that it is possible to combine scale and sustainability,” said Paulo Rigolin, Alltech’s vice president for Latin America.
Rigolin added that environmental certification is becoming increasingly relevant as Brazilian agribusiness continues to gain importance through innovation and scale. Alltech has operated in Brazil since 1993, and the country is now the company’s third-largest market. The company also highlighted its animal nutrition fermentation facility in Sao Pedro do Ivai, Parana, which it describes as one of the world’s largest.
The award supports Alltech’s broader sustainability agenda under its “Working Together for a Planet of Plenty” platform. The company said the EcoVadis process not only validates its environmental, social and governance performance, but also provides a roadmap for further improvement. Alltech shares its annual progress through its sustainability report, which tracks actions linked to its commitments to the U.N. Global Compact, the U.N. Ten Principles and the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
